Brick and light blue twin home in Havertown, PA after washing, with a clean cream concrete walkway curving to the front porch

Havertown is where most of the work on this site was done, and three separate jobs here are photographed on the portfolio page. It is also the town whose housing stock explains the most: streets of 1920s to 1950s stone-front twins under a mature tree canopy, with the original concrete walkways still in the ground.

The canopy is the problem and the appeal

The old oaks and maples that make Brookline and Oakmont worth living on also keep the north and east elevations permanently damp. That is ideal conditions for the algae that feeds on siding, and it is why a Havertown twin can have one wall that looks fine and one that looks neglected. The shaded wall is not dirtier, it is alive, and it needs killing rather than rinsing.

Ninety-year-old concrete is not the same as new concrete

The original walkways on these blocks have an open, weathered surface with decades of organic soil down in the pores. It cleans up beautifully and it does not clean up to brilliant white, because that is not the color of ninety-year-old concrete. Anyone promising new-slab white on a 1930s Havertown walk has not seen one.

Three completed jobs, right here

Havertown is the town this portfolio is mostly made of. A whole-exterior twin, a flagstone patio and walkway, and a gutter brightening on a white cape – all photographed, all in Havertown, and two of our four Google reviews are from Havertown homeowners.

Havertown Questions

Answered for this town specifically.

Have you actually worked in Havertown?
Yes. Three separate Havertown jobs are photographed on our portfolio page - a whole-exterior twin, a flagstone patio and walkway, and a gutter brightening on a white cape - and two of our four Google reviews are from Havertown homeowners.
My twin shares a wall with my neighbor. How does that work?
It is the most common arrangement here and it is not a problem. We wash your half and stop cleanly at the party line. Most neighbors end up booking together, which is usually cheaper for both and avoids an obvious line down the middle.
